According to Goal, the 20-year-old opponent was on the way to Camp Nou on a five-year contract after the sides had come to an agreement.
Barca have verified a €105m charge for Dembele, with Dortmund to receive an additional €42m in bonuses. The forward’s launch clause continues to be set in €400m.
The €222m received from Rome Saint-Germain which was intended for Neymar started the Liga’s side persuit for Dembele and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho inside the close time of the season, but they noticed that the bids for each were rejected.
Whilst Liverpool have stood boldly on their insistence that Coutinho is not for sale, Dortmund have surrendered to Dembele’s wishes and allowed him to go. The France international had made clear his desire to join Ernesto Valverde’s side simply by skipping training, and that resulted in him being suspended indefinitely by Dortmund.
Dembele spent only one season in Germany after he joined from Rennes to get €15m in July 2016, scoring 12 goals in 50 games in all tournaments for BVB.
He will get to Spain this weekend to undergo some medicals and sign his agreement ahead of his official introduction at Camp Nou on Monday.
He is the fifth signing that Barca have made in the current window, joining Marlon, Nelson Semedo, Paulinho and Gerard Deulofeu in the movement to Camp Nou.
