Anambra Elections: Tony Nwoye Overtakes Andy Uba, others, wins APC ticket

Tony Nwoye has surfaced as winner of the Anambra State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship major election.

He will also run against incumbent Governor Wille Obiano of APGA on Nov 18.
Nwoye, a member of the House of Reps and former NANS president, obtained 2,146 votes to overcome his nearest rival, Senator Andy Uba who received 931 electoral votes.

11 aspirants contested for the Anambra APC governorship ticket.

Finally, the outcome was announced on Sunday by the Chief Returning Officer, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State.

As outlined by Governor Shettima, George Moghalu also polled 525 votes, Bart Nwibe obtained 414 and John-Bosco Onunkwo received 85 ballot votes.

Additional results are Madu Nonso – 21 votes, Nwike Patrick – 20, Obidigbo Chike – 22, and Okonkwo Donatus – 10.

5,430 delegates from the 21 local government areas of the state took part in the exercise.

He is also An ex Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2013 election in Anambra state but presently, he is a member of the All Progressives Congress
